HOUSTON – In just two months, recent college graduates may start taking important steps toward getting out of debt.
This week, President Barack Obama announced his “Pay as You Earn” proposal.
It would allow borrowers of federal loans to cap their payments at 10 percent of their discretionary income.
It would also forgive debt balances after 20 years.
The president’s “executive order” would put the plan into effect next year.
Is college education an American right? That depends on who you ask.
