On Thursday, Dec. 30, Syracuse University will test its North and South Campus outdoor sirens. Installed as part of the Orange Alert emergency notification system, the sirens will be tested between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thursday, during which time a seven-second alarm will sound at different intervals as the testing is performed. The siren sound will likely be audible in the University-area communities.
More information about the siren system and the Orange Alert emergency notification system is available at the Department of Public Safety’s “Orange Alert Siren System” FAQ page.
